1 cup butter, softened, no substitutes
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla and almond extract. Combine the flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, salt and nutmeg; gradually add to creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool on wire racks.
