Canned Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. white vinegar
    cut up peppers
    1 tsp. salt
    3 or 4 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 to 1/8 tsp. alum
    1 qt. water
    cut up cauliflower (optional)
    1 tsp. oil
    1/4 to 1/8 tsp. turmeric
    garlic in pieces
Preparation
    Bring water and vinegar to a boil.
    Put peppers and optional cauliflower in hot jars.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Pour hot vinegar and water over peppers and seal jars.
