Cornmeal Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening.
    Add sugar and eggs.
    Beat until thick and light colored.
    Stir in alternately flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt with the milk.
    Mix thoroughly and bake about 20 minutes at 400\u00b0 in well-buttered muffin pans.
    Yields 14 to 16 muffins.
