Spiced Cranberry Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/4 c. whole cloves
    3 sticks cinnamon
    2 qt. cranberry juice cocktail, chilled
    1 (46 oz.) can orange-grapefruit juice, chilled
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    2 qt. ginger ale, chilled
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat, cool and strain.
    To serve, combine sugar mixture, fruit juices and ginger ale in a large punch bowl.
    Yield:
    7 quarts.
