Fancy Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can French-style green beans
    1 slice bacon
    1/2 medium onion, minced
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    slivered almonds, toasted
Preparation
    Drain liquid
    from
    beans,
    reserving 1/4 cup.\tLightly brown bacon; drain on paper towel, reserving excess drippings. Saute onion in
    bacon
    drippings;
    add
    beans,
    1/4
    cup\tbean liquid and sugar.\tChop
    bacon and add to bean mixture.
    Cook, uncovered, over
    low
    heat until liquid is absorbed.
    Top with almonds. Yields 2 to 3 servings.
