Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/4 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    4 c. flour (plain)
    1 c. milk, warmed
Preparation
    Soak yeast for 10 minutes in lukewarm water.
    Mix shortening, sugar, salt and egg.
    Add to yeast, then add flour and milk.
    Let rise until doubled.
    Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut doughnuts out and let rise again.
    Fry in deep oil until golden brown.
    Glaze with powdered sugar and milk mixture.
