Holiday Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 c. lemon juice
    1 (46 oz.) can red fruit-flavored punch, chilled
    1 (28 oz.) bottle club soda or ginger ale, chilled
    cherries and orange slices (optional)
Preparation
    In quart measure or medium bowl, stir sugar into lemon juice until dissolved.
    Place ice cubes in large punch bowl.
    Pour lemon juice-sugar mixture and fruit punch over ice.
    Slowly add club soda or ginger ale.
    Stir.
    If desired, garnish with cherries and orange slices and enjoy.
    Yields 3 quarts.
