Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites (room temperature)
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Beat egg whites in large bowl and set aside.
    Combine next 3 ingredients in saucepan.
    Bring to boil quickly (don't scorch). Continue to boil until syrup forms hard ball when dropped in cool water (cracks against side).
    Turn large mixer bowl with egg whites on medium and pour hot syrup over them steadily with stream about size of spaghetti until all syrup is used up.
    Continue beating and scrape candy down from side of bowl.
    Beat until candy starts to firm up and lose its shiny appearance.
    While beating, add vanilla, then nuts and spoon out on buttered dish with teaspoon.
