Toffee - cooking recipe

35 saltine crackers
2 sticks butter
1 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 (12 oz.) bags milk chocolate chips (not semi-sweet)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Line 10 x 15-inch jellyroll pan with aluminum foil. Place saltines (7 down, 5 across) in pan. Combine brown sugar and butter and melt and cook on top of stove. (If doing in the microwave, can be very tricky...needs to melt and cook a few minutes.) Stir thoroughly and pour over crackers. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 16 minutes. Remove from oven and cover with chocolate chips. When chips melt, smooth over with spatula and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Chill for 1 hour. Break into bite size pieces. Refrigerate in tin.
