Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 gallons sliced cucumbers
8 onions
1/2 cup salt
4 cups vinegar
4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. whole cloves
2 tsp mustard seed
1 Tbsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp turmeric

Preparation

Mix first 3 ingredients, let stand 3 hours.
Add the next 6 ingredients and bring to a boil.
Seal hot.
