Post Office Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. white vinegar
    3 c. pecan halves (warm)
Preparation
    Put sugar in 2 to 3-quart saucepan.
    Add boiling water and white vinegar.
    Cook to hard crack stage.
    Add pecans; mix and spread on buttered platter.
