Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
pinch of salt
Preparation

Cream the shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add eggs and beat. Stir in peanut butter.
Add dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture.
Form into small balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of a fork to make crisscross design.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Makes 8 dozen.
