Christmas Fruit Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. broken pecans
1 1/2 sticks oleo
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. dates, chopped
1 lb. crystalized cherries, cut in half
1 lb. crystalized pineapple, in chunks
Preparation

Sprinkle pecans over greased and floured 10 x 5 x 1-inch pan. Cream oleo and add sugar.
Continue creaming.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Continue beating.
Then add flour and vanilla; mix well. Press batter down over nuts (wetting your hands helps).
Spread dates, then cherries and pineapple over batter.
Wet hands and press down.
Bake at 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
Yields about 60 bars.
