Oatmeal Jumbos - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 c. shortening, softened
    1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. water
    2 c. oatmeal, uncooked
Preparation
    Pour enough boiling water over raisins to cover; let stand 10 minutes.
    Drain.
    Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves into bowl.
    Add shortening, sugar, egg and water.
    Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
    Stir in raisins and oatmeal.
    Roll dough out on lightly floured board or canvas to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Cut with floured 3-inch round cutter.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
