Soft Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. molasses
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening, melted
1 level tsp. ground ginger
1 level tsp. soda
1/2 level tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. water
4 c. flour
1/2 level tsp. salt
Preparation

Stir the molasses, sugar and shortening together; add the water, then the flour, salt, soda and spices sifted together, and beat hard.
Bake in two well-greased pans in a moderate oven about half an hour.
