Baked Chicken With Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. uncooked regular rice
    1 pkg. onion soup (1 3/8 oz.)
    2 (2 to 3 lb.) broiler fryers (breasts or thighs are great)
    1 can mushroom soup (undiluted)
    3 c. water
    butter or margarine
Preparation
    Cut up chicken.
    Pepper to taste; no salt.
    Spread rice evenly in bottom of well-greased baking dish.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 of onion soup mix.
    Place chicken on rice.
    Sprinkle with remaining soup. Mix soup and water; blend well.
    Pour over chicken; dot with butter.
    Cover and bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 hours or until chicken is done.
    If it gets too dry, add more water.
    Yields 8 to 10 servings.
