Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. rolled oats (heaping)
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. molasses
4 Tbsp. shortening
2 c. boiling water
1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1/3 c. lukewarm water
5 1/2 c. flour (more or less)
Preparation

Pour 2 cups boiling water over the first 4 ingredients; stir. Let stand until cool.
Add yeast.
Add flour and knead.
Let rise until double in bulk in a warm place.
Knead and make into 2 large loaves; let rise again until double in bulk.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
(This also makes about 20 large rolls.)
