Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
dash of salt
1 c. flour
3/4 c. chocolate syrup (canned)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
whole walnuts (for garnish)
Preparation

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs until very creamy and well blended. Add salt. Stir in flour until well blended. Add chocolate syrup, vanilla and chopped nuts.
Pour mixture into well-greased and lightly floured 9-inch square pan. Smooth top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes or until stick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool pan on wire rack, but loosen cake at edges. Cut into squares. Garnish with walnuts or dust with powdered sugar.
