Ingredients

4 c. all-purpose flour
8 Tbsp. margarine or 1/2 c. Crisco
6 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
strawberry or raspberry preserves or orange marmalade
Preparation

Cream sugar and margarine or Crisco real well.
Add eggs, vanilla and milk.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Add liquids.
Refrigerate overnight.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 350\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
Cut cookies in half as soon as they come out of the oven.
Let cool; then fill with about 1/2 teaspoon of preserves.
Frost with different colored frostings and sprinkle top with nuts or colored sugars.
