Sunset Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. grated or ground firm pears
    1 small can crushed pineapple
    3/4 c. maraschino cherries, diced
    7 c. sugar
    juice of 1 lemon
    6 oz. bottle fruit pectin
Preparation
    In preserving pot, put pears, pineapple, cherries, sugar and lemon juice.
    Mix well. Bring to boiling point, stirring constantly, for 7 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in fruit pectin.
    Stir and skim for 5 minutes.
    Put in hot jars and seal. Yields 5 pints.
