Ingredients

1 c. butter (not margarine)
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla sugar or 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. Lyles golden syrup (not Karo)
Preparation

Mix in order given. Divide dough into 4 rolls, each one like a long hot dog (about 12-inches long). Put on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 rolls to a sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden brown (about 10 to 15 minutes). Slice diagonally while still warm.
