Layered Green Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 head lettuce, broken
    1 c. chopped green onion
    1 box frozen green peas
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    6 hard-cooked eggs, sliced
    2 c. chopped celery
    1 can water chestnuts, chopped
    2 c. mayonnaise
    3 oz. Romano cheese
    1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation
    Layer in large casserole: lettuce, celery, onion, peas and mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle sugar on mayonnaise; sprinkle on Romano cheese, eggs and bacon.
    Cover tightly and refrigerate for 8 hours.
