Apple Cake #2 - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk (about)
    apples, peeled and cored
Preparation
    Put flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter in a mixing bowl.
    Put egg into a measuring cup.
    Add enough milk to make 1 cup.
    Add to dry ingredients mixing well.
    Spread batter into a greased 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Cut up apples into eights.
    Place over dough, press down lightly.
