Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. each: black pepper, ground nutmeg and ground cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
6 Tbsp. butter
1/2 c. molasses
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. water and 1/4 c. strong brewed coffee
2 eggs, lightly beaten
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease an 8-inch square cake pan.
In a bowl, sift together flour, soda, black pepper, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and ginger.
Melt butter over low heat; stir in molasses, brown sugar, water and coffee.
Remove from heat and let cool. Slowly beat in eggs, flour and spices.
Pour batter into pan.
Bake 45 minutes.
Let cool, then cut into squares.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if you like.
