Peanut Butter Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked pie shell
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 c. scalded milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 egg whites
Preparation
    Combine powdered sugar and peanut butter.
    Mix with fork until mixture resembles coarse corn meal.
    Spread half of mixture in baked pie shell.
    Set remaining mixture aside.
    Combine remaining ingredients, except egg whites, in a saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.
    Spoon over peanut butter mixture in pastry shell.
    Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Spread over cooked filling.
    Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mixture over meringue.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until firm and brown.
