Chinese Style Vegetable Medley - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head green cabbage (about 1 lb.)
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. thin diagonal slices celery
    1 medium green pepper, cut into thin diagonal slices
    2/3 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Prepare 3 cups finely shredded cabbage.
    Heat shortening in a medium skillet.
    Add vegetables and stir.
    Cover; steam 5 minutes or until crisp-tender, stirring several times.
    Add salt and pepper.
    If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon soy sauce.
    Serves 4.
