Coconut Meringue Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. flaked coconut
1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 baked pastry shell
Preparation

Combine egg yolks, salt and milk.
Mix well.
Place over low heat, stirring constantly, until warm.
Gradually add 1 cup of sugar and cornstarch to milk mixture, stirring constantly until thickened.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Remove from heat; stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and coconut.
