Cherry Supreme Chiffon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour (spoon lightly, don't pack)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. Wesson oil
    3/4 c. cold water
    5 egg yolks, unbeaten
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. egg whites (7 or 8)
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    In the first bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Make a well and add the oil, cold water, egg yolks and vanilla.
    Beat with spoon until smooth.
