Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    3/4 c. soft butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. quick oatmeal
Preparation
    Over low heat, melt caramels with milk.
    Stir until smooth. Stir in walnuts; set aside.
    Mix well (like pie crust) the butter, brown sugar, salt, flour, baking soda and oatmeal.
    Spread 2 1/2 cups of mixture on bottom of 13 x 9-inch greased and floured pan. Pat down firmly with large spoon.
    Spread caramel mixture on top. Sprinkle rest of crust on top of filling; pat gently.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cut when cool.
