Date Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dates
    1/4 c. butter
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. nuts
    whipped cream
    bananas
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over cut up dates and butter; set aside until cool.
    Add next 7 ingredients.
    Bake in cake pan at 350\u00b0. Cut in small squares.
