Glorified Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage, finely chopped
    2 medium onions, finely chopped
    1 green pepper, finely chopped
    3 stalks celery, finely chopped
    1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
    2 pods garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
    toasted bread crumbs, soaked in milk
    1/2 pt. half and half light cream
    1/2 lb. cheese, grated
    1 stick oleo
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Parboil cabbage in slightly salted water until tender; drain. In cooking oil, wilt celery, onions and green pepper.
    Add cabbage and smother on low heat 20 to 30 minutes, stirring frequently. When cabbage is smothered, add cheese and continue cooking until cheese is melted.
    Add cream, butter and toasted bread crumbs, soaked in milk, keeping it moist.
    Before removing from heat, add garlic, parsley, salt and pepper.
    Place in large casserole dish and top with seasoned bread crumbs, tossed with more grated cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in oven for about 30 minutes or until heated.
