Lemon Spice Bars - cooking recipe

3/4 c. shortening
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. shredded lemon peel
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

In mixing bowl, cream shortening, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs, lemon peel and juice; beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and spices; add to creamed mixture. Stir in rolled oats and nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
