Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. onions, chopped
    1 c. celery, cut up
    4 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 can tomato paste
    1 clove garlic (on a toothpick)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    pinch of pepper
    1 bay leaf
    1 1/2 lb. shrimp (if large, cut up)
    1 can English peas
Preparation
    Saute onions and celery in olive oil.
    Add tomatoes and paste; stir well.
    Add garlic, sugar, salt, pepper and bay leaf.
    Stir and simmer 30 to 40 minutes; add shrimp.
    Cook 15 minutes longer; add peas.
    Serve over rice.
    Serves 10 to 12.
