Snickerdoodles(Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Mix together thoroughly the shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
    Mix with the creamed shortening.
    Chill dough.
    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
    Roll in mixture of 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake until lightly browned but still soft.
    These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkled tops.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Makes approximately 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
