Apple Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. finely chopped apples
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and flour a loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inches or 2 small ones).
Mix 1 cup sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
Cream well.
Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Stir in apples and nuts.
Spread in pan.
Mix 1 tablespoon sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle over the batter.
Bake until it tests done, 50 to 60 minutes.
Immediately remove from pan and thoroughly cool.
Store tightly covered.
