English Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    1 c. diced green pepper
    1 c. chopped sweet pickles
    1 onion, chopped
    1 can English peas
    2 c. mayonnaise
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. chopped boiled eggs
    8 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
    1/2 c. crisp bacon bits
Preparation
    Layer lettuce, pepper, pickles, onion and peas.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar and spread over peas.
    Add layer of eggs and layer of cheese.
    Top with bacon bits.
    Refrigerate 8 to 12 hours before serving.
