Baked Turnip Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. turnip, peeled and cubed
    1/2 lb. bacon
    2 chopped onions
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 medium bell pepper, chopped
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    3 slices toasted bread, crumbled
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1 Tbsp. green onion tops
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook turnips until tender, then drain and mash.
    Cook bacon until crisp.
    Remove from pan and crumble.
    Reserve 2 tablespoons bacon drippings in pan and saute onions, garlic and pepper.
    Stir in turnips and remaining ingredients except bacon and green onion. Spoon into a 3-quart casserole dish.
    Top with bacon and green onion.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Serves 10.
