Ingredients

1 c. light brown sugar
2/3 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c. pecans or walnuts, broken into pieces (1 lb.)
2 c. Dromedary prechopped and lightly sugared dates (1 lb.)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Use a large spoon to cream sugar and butter by hand.
Add eggs and mix well.
Add flour and baking soda.
Mix well.
Add dates and nuts.
Coat nuts and dates well with dough.
Using a teaspoon, drop dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet, 2-inches apart.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Yields 6 dozen cookies.
