Great And Easy Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 lb. cheap roast (chuck), cut into cubes
    5 sliced carrots
    4 sliced onions
    3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    salt and pepper
    1 sweet potato, cut in cubes
    4 to 5 regular potatoes, cut in cubes
Preparation
    Put cut up meat in a very large roasting casserole with carrots, onions, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
    Bake, covered, at 250\u00b0 for 5 hours.
    After 3 hours, add sweet potato and regular potatoes.
    Cook until tender.
    At very end, thicken with potato starch, dissolved in wine or water.
    Mushrooms and pearl onions are an optional addition.
