French Apple Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. peeled sliced tart apples
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    3 Tbsp. butter, softened
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, slightly beaten
Preparation
    Combine apples, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, cinnamon, vanilla and 1/4 cup water in bowl, mixing well.
    Spoon into 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Dot with 1 tablespoon butter.
    Combine 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons butter and egg in bowl, beating well. Drop by 9 large spoonfuls over apples.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
