Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 or 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
egg whites, stiffly beaten with 2 Tbsp. sugar to each egg white and dash of cream of tartar
Preparation

Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt; gradually add milk with egg yolks mixed in, to the dry mixture.
Cook over medium heat until thick, about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
Cool; add butter and
vanilla.
Pour
into cooled baked shell and spread with meringue or Cool Whip.
If using meringue, bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
