Chocolate Refrigerator Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. butter, margarine or shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 (2 oz.) sq. baking chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped pecans or hazelnuts

Preparation

Beat butter, margarine or shortening until light.
Gradually add the sugar and beat until creamy.
Add the egg, cooled melted chocolate and vanilla.
Beat well.
Sift the flour, salt and baking powder.
Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the nuts.
