Mock Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

equal amount of sugar and figs
2 small boxes strawberry jello for each 4 to 6 c. figs
dash of salt
Preparation

Wash figs in warm water.
Remove stems and cut figs in half. Cook figs and sugar over low heat until syrup is thick.
Add jello and cook until jello is dissolved.
Put in jars as you regularly do for preserves and jellies.
