Bean Soup Then Bake For Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. dry great northern beans
    2 chopped onions
    1 qt. tomato juice
    ham bone or 1 c. diced ham
Preparation
    Wash, drain and put beans in kettle.
    Cover with water and bring to boiling.
    Boil 2 minutes.
    Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
    Add onions, tomato juice and hambone or ham.
    Boil gently for several hours.
    Add water as needed.
    Use as soup the first meal, then bake for a second meal.
    You might have enough left to put a casserole of beans in the freezer.
    A very thrifty and tasty, healthy food.
