English Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large jelly roll
    3/4 c. cream sherry
    1 large can sliced peaches
    a few sliced almonds
    2 small cartons whipping cream
    1 jar cherries
    1 large pkg. strawberry jello
Preparation
    Cover the bottom of a large glass bowl with
    a double layer of sliced jelly roll.
    Pour sherry over the jelly roll, then place the sliced peaches on top of it. (Do not use the juice from the peaches or the jelly roll will be soggy.)
    Make jello and when it's cool, pour on top of peaches.
    When the jello is set, make the pudding and when cool, pour on top of the jello.
    When this is set, beat the whipping cream until it stands in peaks.
    Add a few drops of vanilla to the whipping cream.
    Pour on top of pudding and then decorate the cream with the cherries and sliced almonds. (Fresh strawberries can be used instead of cherries when in season.)
