Stuffed Mirlitons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 mirlitons
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 large white onion, finely chopped
    3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
    1 Tbsp. finely chopped bell pepper
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped mushrooms
    1 lb. peeled, coarsely chopped raw shrimp
    1/4 c. finely chopped celery
    1 tsp. finely chopped parsley
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. rosemary
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 c. dry unseasoned bread crumbs
    1 egg, beaten well
    1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
Preparation
    Boil the mirlitons in lightly salted water until a testing fork will pierce them all the way through (without using excessive force).
    Then remove them from the water and set aside to cool.
