Asparagus Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (15 oz.) cans asparagus spears
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 c. milk
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 (3 oz.) cans mushroom stems and pieces, drained
    2 Tbsp. fine, dry breadcrumbs
Preparation
    Drain asparagus, reserving 1 cup liquid; set aside.
    Melt butter in heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth.
    Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Gradually add 1 cup asparagus liquid and milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
    Stir in salt and pepper.
