Pear Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. chopped, canned Bartlett pears
2/3 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream together shortening and sugars; add egg and beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda, allspice, cinnamon and salt.
Add to shortening mixture.
Stir in pears and nuts.
Pour into a 9-inch greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Let stand until cool. Remove and dust with powdered sugar.
