Apple Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut up
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    dash of salt
    pastry (enough for two-crust pie)
Preparation
    Put apples in a saucepan with sugar, cinnamon and salt.
    Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the consistency of chunky applesauce. Cool to room temperature.
    Makes two cups.
