German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate
    1/2 c. boiling water
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. butter (not margarine)
    4 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    4 egg whites
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in boiling water; allow to cool.
    Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time; beat well.
    Add chocolate and vanilla.
    Sift all dry ingredients together.
    Alternately add dry ingredients with buttermilk to butter-sugar mixture.
    Beat egg whites; fold into mixture.
    Turn oven on to 350\u00b0.
    Prepare four 9-inch round pans by spraying with a nonstick baking spray.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 20 minutes, or until cake tests done.
    After done, allow layers to cool completely before frosting.
